New radiation technique aims to spare rectal cancer patients from surgery

Summary

This study tests whether a special MRI-guided radiation machine (MR-linac) combined with standard chemotherapy can help people with distal rectal cancer avoid surgery and keep their rectum. About 100 participants will receive the treatment. The main goal is to see how many are alive and surgery-free after two years.
