Scientists hunt for clues to predict rectal cancer treatment success

NCT ID NCT07499921

First seen Apr 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looks at tumor samples from 300 people who had surgery for rectal cancer. Researchers want to find out why some patients respond well to chemotherapy or immunotherapy while others do not. By studying the immune cells and other features inside the tumors, they hope to develop better ways to predict who can avoid surgery and preserve their quality of life.
