Shocking recovery: zapping tired arms after climbing

NCT ID NCT07336745

First seen Jan 18, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looked at whether using electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) helps climbers recover from arm fatigue faster than just resting. Ten male climbers did a climbing workout to tire their forearms, then tried both EMS and passive rest on separate days. Researchers measured climbing performance, strength, and heart rate to see which method worked better.
