New imaging study reveals hidden heart risks from cancer radiation

Summary
This pilot study will use special PET/MRI scans to watch how chest radiation therapy affects the arteries around the heart in real time. Ten adults with stage II-III or limited stage IV cancer who are getting high-dose chest radiation will be scanned before and 6 months after treatment. The goal is to better understand radiation's impact on heart health, not to treat or cure any condition.
