NCT ID NCT07244731
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a common blood test measure called RDW (red blood cell distribution width) can help predict how severe COVID-19 patients will do in the intensive care unit. Researchers followed 146 adults with severe or critical COVID-19 in the ICU and checked if higher RDW levels were linked to needing a breathing tube or dying. The goal was to see if RDW could be a useful early warning sign for doctors.
