One-Week radiation shows promise for breast cancer patients

Summary
This study compares two types of radiation therapy for women with early-stage breast cancer (tumors 3 cm or smaller, no lymph node spread). One group gets radiation to the whole breast, the other only to the area where the tumor was removed. Both treatments are given once a day for one week. The goal is to see if the shorter, targeted approach works just as well at preventing cancer from coming back and causes fewer cosmetic side effects. About 910 women will take part.
