New drug shows promise for stubborn seizures

Summary

This study tested an experimental drug called RAP-219 in 30 adults with refractory focal epilepsy—seizures that don't respond well to standard treatments. All participants had a brain device already implanted to monitor seizures. The goal was to see if RAP-219 could safely reduce seizure frequency. Results will show whether the drug helps control these hard-to-treat seizures.
