New combo therapy shows promise for tough prostate cancer

NCT ID NCT02225704

First seen Apr 14, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tested whether giving two drugs together—Radium-223 and enzalutamide—is safe for men with advanced prostate cancer that has spread to other parts of the body and is no longer controlled by standard hormone therapy. 45 men took part. The main goal was to track serious side effects, and researchers also looked at how long it took for the cancer to worsen. The approach aims to better control the disease, not cure it.
