Zapping heart trouble: radiation offers new hope for dangerous rhythms

Summary
This study is testing whether a non-invasive radiation treatment is as good as or better than the standard procedure for reducing episodes of a dangerous, fast heart rhythm called ventricular tachycardia. It will involve 60 adults with underlying heart disease who are at high risk for these rhythm problems. Researchers will compare the safety and effectiveness of stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) against the current standard treatment, catheter ablation.
