Scientists track immune cells during radiation to boost future treatments

NCT ID NCT02439008

Summary

This study aimed to understand how high-dose radiation therapy affects the immune system in cancer patients. Researchers followed 28 people with liver, colorectal, melanoma, or kidney cancers, taking blood samples before, during, and after their radiation treatments. The goal was to gather information about immune cell changes to help plan future combination therapies, not to test a new treatment itself.
