First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests a combination of two types of radiation therapy for elderly or frail patients with rectal cancer who cannot have or refuse surgery. The goal is to see if this approach can completely control the tumor for at least a year, while also monitoring quality of life. About 80 participants will receive external beam radiotherapy plus a high-dose internal radiation boost, with no chemotherapy or surgery planned.
