What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Durvalumab (Imfinzi) and tremelimumab, both immunotherapy drugs, plus external beam radiation therapy

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a chemotherapy-free treatment option for advanced bladder cancer, potentially controlling the disease for longer.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-phase trial (13 participants) focused on safety and progression-free survival. The combination may not work better than standard care, and side effects from immunotherapy and radiation can be serious.
