New radiation approach tested for Kids' brain cancer
NCT ID NCT01351870
Summary
This completed Phase 3 trial compared two different radiation schedules for treating standard-risk medulloblastoma, a type of brain tumor, in children and young adults aged 4-21. All 52 participants received the same chemotherapy, but were randomly assigned to receive either standard once-daily radiation or an experimental twice-daily schedule. The main goal was to see if the twice-daily approach improved survival without the cancer returning.
