Common drug tested as potential lifesaver for sepsis organ failure

Summary
This study is testing whether Racecadotril, a drug typically used for diarrhea, can help protect organs in patients with sepsis—a life-threatening body-wide infection. Researchers will give 44 sepsis patients either Racecadotril or a placebo (inactive substance) through a feeding tube for up to 4 days, alongside standard sepsis care. They will measure whether the drug improves patients' organ function scores and other health markers.
