One shot or weeks of pills? new study aims to find best way to tame painful RA flares

NCT ID NCT07245732

Summary

This study aims to find out if a single steroid injection works as well as a 3-week course of steroid pills for reducing the pain and stiffness of a rheumatoid arthritis (RA) flare. Researchers will enroll 220 adults with RA who are experiencing a flare. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the one-time injection or the daily pills, and their symptoms and treatment satisfaction will be compared after 6 weeks.
