Ancient chinese exercise tested for MS symptom relief
NCT ID NCT07473180
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares qigong exercises to standard physical therapy for people with multiple sclerosis. Thirty-six adults with mild to moderate MS will do either qigong or conventional rehab three times a week. Researchers will measure changes in balance, mood, and overall well-being to see if qigong offers extra benefits.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Qigong exercises (Baduanjin)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a gentle, low-cost exercise option to help people with MS feel better and move better.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with only 36 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. Qigong is unlikely to change the course of MS itself.
