Experimental cell therapy targets tough autoimmune conditions

NCT ID NCT07473154

First seen Mar 16, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This early-phase trial tests an experimental treatment called QEL-005 in 16 adults with two autoimmune diseases: diffuse cutaneous systemic sclerosis and difficult-to-treat rheumatoid arthritis. QEL-005 is made from a patient's own white blood cells, which are genetically modified to become special immune cells that target and calm overactive B cells. The main goals are to check safety, find the right dose, and see if it can reduce disease activity.
