First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests a new approach to fight a type of malaria (P. vivax) that can hide in the liver and come back months later. Researchers will use a simple blood test to find people who have been infected recently, then give them a treatment to clear the hidden parasites. The goal is to reduce malaria cases and stop the disease from spreading in communities in Ethiopia and Madagascar. About 19,200 people will take part.
