Pulse oximeter accuracy put to the test in Low-Oxygen conditions
NCT ID NCT05745662
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study checked how accurately pulse oximeters (devices that clip onto a finger to measure blood oxygen) work in healthy adults whose oxygen levels were temporarily lowered. Eleven volunteers had their pulse oximeter readings compared to actual blood samples. The goal was to see how reliable these devices are during very low oxygen states.
