Summary

This trial asks whether using sodium hypochlorite or saline to rinse the tooth, with or without cold therapy (cryotherapy), can reduce pain after a pulpotomy in permanent molars. Adults aged 15-40 with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis will undergo the procedure, and their pain will be tracked for a week. The study also checks overall success, such as absence of pain and tooth vitality.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Sodium hypochlorite irrigation and cryotherapy (cold application) during pulpotomy
What this could lead to
If effective, this could point to a simple way to reduce post-operative pain and improve success after vital pulp therapy, making dental procedures more comfortable.
What could go wrong
This is a very small early trial (3 participants), so results may not apply broadly. Pain is subjective, and the benefits of cryotherapy or different irrigants may not be significant.
