Neck injection could boost PTSD therapy for troops

NCT ID NCT05889741

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests whether a numbing injection in the neck (stellate ganglion block) can make a proven talk therapy for PTSD work better. About 140 military members or retirees with PTSD will get either the real injection or a fake one, plus ten 90-minute therapy sessions. Researchers will track PTSD symptoms and stress levels to see if the combination leads to greater improvement.
