First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 37 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding cognitive processing therapy (CPT) to standard relapse prevention (RP) helps people with both PTSD and alcohol use disorder more than RP alone. About 200 adults with moderate to severe alcohol use disorder and current PTSD will receive either CPT+RP or RP-only therapy. Researchers will track changes in drinking habits and PTSD symptoms over time.
