NCT ID NCT04063020
Summary
This study aimed to understand the psychological experience of children born with an underdeveloped or missing ear (ear aplasia) who choose to have reconstructive surgery. Researchers followed 12 children aged 10-16 to learn about their feelings regarding their condition and how the two-stage surgery to rebuild the outer ear affected their mental state and quality of life. The goal was to gather knowledge to better support future patients through this process.
