Summary

This study tested a structured psychoeducation program for 60 adults with substance use disorder who were under probation supervision. Over six weeks, participants attended weekly group sessions focused on relapse prevention, coping skills, and craving management. The goal was to see if the program could reduce substance cravings and improve psychological resilience.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Structured Psychoeducation Program
What this could lead to
If successful, this approach could offer a low-cost, non-drug way to help people under probation manage cravings and build resilience, potentially reducing relapse.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed study with only 60 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The intervention is behavioral, so effects may vary and long-term benefits are uncertain.
