New scan could spare men unnecessary prostate biopsies
NCT ID NCT05154162
Summary
This study is testing whether a PSMA PET scan can help doctors better find serious prostate cancer in men whose MRI results are unclear. It will compare two groups: one gets the new scan and may avoid a biopsy if it's negative, while the other gets the standard biopsy procedure. The goal is to see if the scan can accurately detect cancer while reducing the number of men who need an invasive biopsy.
