New scan could spare men unnecessary prostate biopsies

NCT ID NCT05154162

Summary

This study is testing whether a PSMA PET scan can help doctors better detect serious prostate cancer in men whose initial MRI results are unclear or negative. It aims to see if this more advanced scan can accurately identify who needs a biopsy and who can safely avoid one. The goal is to improve diagnosis accuracy while reducing the number of unnecessary, invasive procedures for patients.
