New scan could spot aggressive prostate cancer without biopsy
NCT ID NCT04910425
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study aimed to see if a special PET/MRI scan using a radioactive tracer (18F-DCFPyL) can better detect serious prostate cancer in men with high PSA levels (2 ng/mL or more) compared to standard MRI. The approach combines two imaging techniques to find aggressive tumors without an immediate biopsy. However, the study was withdrawn before enrolling any participants, so no results are available.
