New scan combo aims to catch returning prostate cancer earlier

NCT ID NCT07115914

First seen Feb 25, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a PSMA PET scan to the usual MRI scan can better find prostate cancer that has come back after focal therapy (a treatment that targets only the tumor). About 62 men who have had focal therapy will get both scans. The goal is to see if the PSMA PET finds more recurrences than MRI alone, which could help guide future treatment decisions.
