NCT ID NCT06184646
First seen Jul 01, 2026 · Last updated Jul 02, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study investigates whether eating prunes and taking calcium and vitamin D supplements can prevent bone loss in postmenopausal women. Researchers will measure bone density and bone health markers over two years. The goal is to find a simple, natural way to maintain bone strength and reduce osteoporosis risk.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- prunes and calcium/vitamin D supplements
- What this could lead to
- If effective, this simple dietary approach could help prevent bone loss and reduce fracture risk in older women without medication.
- What could go wrong
- This is a mid-sized study, and results may not apply to all women. Dietary interventions can have variable effects, and bone density changes may be small.
