Blood-Based tooth therapy may beat root canal for pain relief
NCT ID NCT07124962
First seen Dec 08, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested whether a treatment using platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from the patient's own blood could reduce pain and improve healing better than a standard root canal. 41 adults with infected, mature single-rooted teeth took part. Pain was measured at 24 and 48 hours, and healing was checked at 1 and 6 months. The goal was to see if the PRP approach offers a gentler, more effective option.
