Heart disease study seeks to unlock Colchicine's protein secrets
NCT ID NCT07462325
First seen Mar 16, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looks at how a low dose of colchicine, an anti-inflammatory drug, changes proteins in the blood of people with coronary heart disease who have high inflammation. Researchers will compare blood samples from 176 patients before and after one month of treatment to find new markers and targets for therapy. The goal is to better understand how colchicine works in the body, not to test a cure or long-term treatment.
