First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looked at whether adding casein protein and leucine (a building block of protein) to meals could help people with COPD and healthy older adults build muscle. Weight loss and muscle loss are common in COPD and can make the disease worse. The study involved 36 participants and tested different combinations of protein, carbs, and leucine to see which best boosted the body's ability to make new protein.
