Can plants and zaps save your muscles during bed rest?
NCT ID NCT07280819
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at how different protein sources (plant-based vs. dairy) and mild electrical muscle stimulation affect muscle building during 4 days of bed rest in 20 healthy young adults. The goal is to find better ways to prevent muscle loss in hospitalized patients. Participants will receive nutrition through a feeding tube and some will get electrical stimulation to their muscles.
