Scientists test 'Sixth Sense' for robotic hands

NCT ID NCT04947462

Summary

This study aims to improve prosthetic hands by giving users a sense of where their artificial limb is in space, a feeling called proprioception. Researchers will test small electrical nerve stimulations in 6 veterans with arm amputations to see if they can create this natural position sense. The goal is to gather knowledge to make future prosthetics feel more natural and useful.
