Simple scan could spare men unnecessary prostate surgery
NCT ID NCT07306767
Summary
This study tested whether a simple ultrasound measurement of how far the prostate bulges into the bladder can predict how well men will respond to medication for urinary symptoms. Researchers followed 130 men over six months to see if the ultrasound result could identify who would improve with pills and who might need stronger treatment or surgery. The goal is to help doctors choose the right treatment faster and avoid ineffective medication.
