Could adding platinum to chemo stop prostate cancer from spreading?

Summary
This study is for men with advanced prostate cancer that no longer responds to hormone therapy and has certain DNA repair gene changes. It tests whether adding a platinum drug to the usual chemo (docetaxel) can delay cancer growth or spread. About 236 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the standard chemo alone or the standard chemo plus platinum. The goal is to see if the combination improves survival and slows disease progression.
