7,500 men tracked to see which prostate cancer screening saves lives

NCT ID NCT07155759

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study follows 7,500 men aged 50-74 to compare long-term outcomes of different prostate cancer screening methods. Some men were invited to a screening program using PSA, a biomarker test, and MRI, while others had only a single PSA test or were part of a control group. Researchers track who develops prostate cancer, who dies from it, and how many biopsies or MRIs are done, using registry data to see which approach works best.
