First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study follows 7,500 men aged 50-74 to see if using a combination of PSA, a biomarker test, and MRI leads to better long-term outcomes, including fewer deaths from prostate cancer. Participants were invited for screening and compared to those who had standard PSA testing or no organized screening. The goal is to find out which approach best detects dangerous cancers while avoiding unnecessary biopsies.
