New radiation schedule aims to cut prostate cancer treatment time without increasing side effects
NCT ID NCT05820633
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study tests a shorter, more intense radiation schedule (ultra-hypo fractionated) against the standard longer course for prostate cancer that has spread to pelvic lymph nodes. About 500 men will receive either the new or standard radiation, plus a brachytherapy boost and hormone therapy. The main goal is to see if the shorter treatment causes similar or fewer side effects while keeping the cancer under control.
