New tests aim to spot prostate cancer changes before standard blood work

NCT ID NCT07210086

Summary

This study is testing whether two newer methods—a special PET scan and a blood test for tumor DNA—can detect changes in prostate cancer earlier or more accurately than the standard PSA blood test. It will involve 50 men with prostate cancer that has spread to a few areas, who are receiving targeted radiation treatment. Researchers want to see if these new monitoring tools can provide a clearer picture of how well the radiation is working and if the cancer is progressing.
