Blood test vs. PET scan: new study aims to simplify prostate cancer monitoring

NCT ID NCT06917781

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study is looking at whether a blood test (liquid biopsy) can detect prostate cancer cells as well as a special PET scan does. Researchers will take blood samples from 80 men with prostate cancer before their PET scan and compare the results. The goal is to see if the blood test can give similar information about how far the cancer has spread, which could lead to simpler monitoring in the future.
