New scanner could cut prostate cancer scans in half

NCT ID NCT05470699

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests whether a new imaging system (RefleXion RMRS) can produce clear PET-CT scans of prostate cancer tumors, similar to standard scans. About 34 adults with prostate cancer will get both types of scans. If the new system works well, it may allow doctors to plan radiation therapy using fewer scans, saving time and reducing hassle for patients.
