MRI-Guided biopsy may improve prostate cancer diagnosis in men with high PSA

NCT ID NCT03234556

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study compares two ways to diagnose prostate cancer in African American and white men who have high PSA levels. One method is the standard 12-core random biopsy, and the other uses MRI images to guide the biopsy. The goal is to see which approach better detects serious prostate cancer while reducing unnecessary procedures.
