Could a common heart drug boost cancer treatment?

Summary
This study tests whether adding propranolol (a beta-blocker used for heart conditions) to standard chemotherapy and immunotherapy (pembrolizumab) can improve treatment for advanced esophageal or gastroesophageal junction cancer that cannot be surgically removed. About 40 adults with newly diagnosed, advanced cancer will receive the combination. The goal is to see if propranolol can reduce stress-related immune suppression and help the other drugs work better.
