NCT ID NCT06833320

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study looks at whether the drug propranolol can safely and quickly treat a serious fluid buildup called chylothorax that can happen after open-heart surgery in children with congenital heart disease. About 50 children aged 7 days to 18 years will be randomly assigned to receive either propranolol or a placebo. The goal is to see if propranolol helps the fluid drain faster and shortens hospital stays.
