New sedation cocktail may protect elderly hearts during ICU breathing support

Summary
This study compares a combination of two sedatives (propofol and ketamine) against propofol alone in elderly ICU patients who need a breathing tube. The goal is to see if the combo reduces dangerous drops in blood pressure. About 41 patients aged 65 and older with heart disease and serious infections will take part.
