First seen Nov 14, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looks at whether taking the drug tranexamic acid for up to 7 days after knee replacement surgery can improve pain, function, and how well the knee bends. About 351 adults having a first knee replacement will be randomly assigned to receive the drug or a placebo. The main goal is to see if the drug leads to better knee movement and less pain in the weeks and months after surgery.
