First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looked at whether certain cells in the blood (called endothelial progenitor cells) can help predict if someone will have another heart problem within a year after a heart attack. Researchers followed 180 people who had a heart attack and had a procedure to open blocked arteries. The goal was to see if measuring these cells early on could forecast future heart events.
