Summary
This study tested a stem cell product called Prochymal in 11 patients with severe graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) that did not respond to standard treatments. The goal was to see if the stem cells could safely improve or resolve GVHD symptoms. The approach involved infusing adult stem cells to help control the immune attack on the patient's body.
