First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether taking a daily probiotic supplement for four weeks can help people with Alcohol Use Disorder reduce their alcohol cravings and improve thinking, mood, and gut health. Thirty-eight participants are randomly assigned to receive either the probiotic or a placebo, and neither they nor the researchers know who gets what. The goal is to see if probiotics could be a simple, additional tool to support recovery.
